LaunchDarkly is a runtime control platform designed for modern software development and AI engineering. It enables teams to decouple code deployment from feature exposure, allowing developers to safely ship code to production behind feature flags without disrupting end users.
Beyond traditional feature management, the platform extends governance to AI models and autonomous agents. Engineering teams can monitor LLM responses, run online evaluations, balance model costs, and dynamically route prompt traffic across multiple providers in real time.
Built primarily for mid-market and enterprise engineering teams, LaunchDarkly reduces release risk within existing CI/CD pipelines. While competitors like Split and Unleash focus heavily on core flag workflows, LaunchDarkly sets itself apart with deep AI agent controls and usage-based pricing scaled by active user volume.

LaunchDarkly lets us release features to a small group first, monitor how they behave and expand access gradually. If something goes wrong, we can switch it off immediately without scrambling to deploy another fix. Flag management needs discipline as usage grows, but the control and peace of mind it gives our development team are excellent.
